Applications are invited for: Youth Ministry Officer (YMO) 2019 school year.
Applications are invited from young adults who have completed Year 12 in recent years and who have strong faith and leadership qualities. This is a 12-month position to support evangelisation of students in the College.
The YMO is a bridge for youth between the parish worshipping and ministering community, and the parish school. The successful applicant will be expected to minister to youth in the parish (i.e. at Sunday mass and Youth Group nights) in accordance with the Parish School Youth Ministry Officer Standard Operating Procedures.
Applicants will be required to:
- Support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.
- Acknowledge and accept that work in schools is part of the mission of the Catholic Church
- Uphold the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church in Catholic Education
- Avoid any influence on students that is not consistent with such mission, teachings or ethos
The successful applicant will be a committed and practicing Catholic who worships in their local parish. The successful applicant will be required to attend spiritual induction & formation.
Applications should include a personal resume, details of any youth ministry experience and general parish ministry experience, and details of three referees (including the Parish Priest from their local parish).
