The Government should consider paying teachers more to ease the recruitment crisis, chief inspector Chris Woodhead told a conference in London.

He said: “They ought to consider whether or not maths teachers, modern languages teachers, physics teachers and others who are difficult to recruit need to be paid more than other teachers.”
