Basic Scope & Primary Objectives

This role, suitable for a graduate with an interest in writing and education, will involve working with a new team to write content to draw teachers’ attention to the best available teaching materials on Tes, as well as assisting with their curation.

The assistant content producer will work with team members more experienced in content curation to contribute to an editorial publishing schedule and plan projects that will help teachers to find high quality lesson ideas on the site more easily.

Key Responsibilities

· Research, write, compile and deliver curated content for a range of user groups on Tes Resources according to the Resources strategic content plan; curated content packages include audience-specific newsletters, onsite collections and sets of materials selected to match Tes editorial features

· Support initiatives to ensure that materials on the site are high quality, including through adjudicating on takedoen caes.

· Work with marketing and social media colleagues to ensure content is planned into cross-departmental schedules in order to drive engagement with resources content

· Write proposals for new content projects to submit to the strategic content plan

· Pick-up additional responsibilities to assist with delivery of team objectives, as required by the Head of User Generated Content.

Person Specification

Essential Skills/Qualifications


· Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Office software.

· Capable to learn how to use bespoke content management systems and data tracking tools.


· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

· Professional but warm manner

· Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to new learnings

· Excellent problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills/Qualifications

· An engaging writing style.

· Degree level or equivalent.

· Teaching experience a positive, but not necessary
