Job overview

Casual basis - as and when required

Maltings Academy and New Rickstones Academy in Witham, Essex are graded ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Good’ by Ofsted respectively. Both have a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff.

We are recruiting a number of Associate Teachers to join our Cover team. You will provide cover for classes in the event of absence of teaching staff in all areas of the curriculum, following lesson plans provided and maintaining good order and focused activity.  Training will be provided.

The successful candidates will be educated to Level 3 (minimum), have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to motivate our learners.  You will be able to adapt quickly to changing situations and ‘think on your feet’. These positions are on a casual basis across both academies, with working hours between 8.30am and 3pm.

This is a flexible role that provides full training and the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team. It also offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience if you are looking to develop a career in teaching - a number of our Associate Teachers have gone on to join our School Direct Teacher Training Programme and then secured teaching positions within our academies.

Closing date:  Monday 19 March 2018

Start date: As soon as possible

Potential candidates are encouraged to contact Paula Maxted, Cover Manager for an informal discussion about the post and also to visit the academy - pmaxted@maltingsacademy.org / 01376 512 911 x1316.

Maltings Academy and New Rickstones Academy are key members of Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), a multi-academy sponsor which aims to provide the opportunity for all young learners to fulfil their real potential, broaden their horizons and become active, prosperous and successful citizens in the world around them.  In each of the AET academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  Academy employees receive discounted membership at Witham Leisure Centre and linked centres in the Fusion Group.
