We are excited to offer an opportunity for the role of Cadet Force School Staff Instructor which is a new role to PGS working in partnership with the MOD to develop, and lead a Combined Cadet Corps.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 2 days per week, term time (15 hours). A further 51 additional days are funded by the MOD: 1 day per week term time, with remaining days as determined (weekends/school holidays)
Salary Range: £8152 per annum, plus MOD daily rate of £74.80 for additional days
Start Date: September 2022
About the role:
The School Staff Instructor will play a key role in developing and leading a Combined Cadet Force into an outstanding cadet unit. Administrative support is central to the role in order to enable the smooth running of both weekly training sessions in school, and camps and activities away from the school site.
To meet the specialist nature of this role you will need to have previously served as an SNCO/Officer as a regular, reserve or member of the Cadet Forces; have complete Security Clearance (SC) or currently hold an in date certificate; and hold the Skill at Arms Instructor (CF SAAI) Qualification
Ideally you will have:
• Good practical knowledge of field tactics, map reading, skill at arms, first aid, drill, self-reliance
• Knowledge/experience of military exercises
• Management and leadership experience
• Ability to establish good working relationships
• Competency in the use of IT and associated software
