Job overview

We are currently seeking to appoint a Design and Technology Technician to join our highly motivated and successful Design and Technology Department.

The hours of duty are 36 per week, term time only plus 5 days.

This role requires a proactive approach across a diverse range of activities including the use of woodwork machinery e.g. band & circular saws, preparing materials for lessons & GCSE projects and the ability or willingness to use computer controlled machinery, such as laser cutters.

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of health and safety alongside general workshop maintenance and organisation. It is essential that our Technician can prioritise a busy schedule whilst maintaining high standards of work and support when necessary. Good communication is key at all levels, from internal staff & students to external contacts/suppliers.

Middleton Technology School is an 11-16 school, and is one of 4 secondary schools serving the town of Middleton within the Borough of Rochdale to the north of the Manchester boundary. The school is part of Great Academies Education Trust which is a small multi academy trust.
