The Diocese includes the major commercial centres of Townsville and Mount Isa and many rural and remote communities including Palm Island.
The Townsville Catholic Education Office is a service organisation which supports 29 Catholic schools and employs more than 2,400 staff throughout the Diocese who cater to the learning of 12,000 students.
A review was recently completed which focused upon how the Townsville Catholic Education Office could provide a greater level of support to schools and students. One outcome has been a restructure of the Strategic Leadership Team and the sharper emphasis on Catholic Identity and Indigenous Education in this newly created role.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Catholic Education this position leads the development and delivery of strategy and policy in the areas of Religious Education and Indigenous Education, enabling connection with the Church; and ensuring the spirit of our Catholic culture and identity is at the heart of everything that we do.
