Welcome to the Turing House School Career site!

Are you passionate about teaching and supporting students? Are you looking for an inspirational school that provides the rare opportunities that a growing school does? Do you want to be supported in your career development? Then come and join us at Turing House School.

Turing House opened in September 2015. It was set up by a parent-led group and became the fifth school in the Russell Education Trust (RET), the largest group of free schools in the country. We are now in our eighth academic year and this September we welcomed our third cohort in to our sixth form, again welcoming students from other schools to continue their education with us.

Turing House School has had enormous local support since it was first proposed and has been oversubscribed for every intake so far. In May 2018, we were pleased when Ofsted judged us as good overall with outstanding leadership and management as well as personal development, behaviour and welfare. The support to staff provided by the knowledge and experience in RET is invaluable. RET secondary schools are among the most successful in the country; the Progress 8 score for the Trust’s first set of GCSE results in 2018 placed RET among the top MATs nationally and our EBACC entry and success rate is the top ten nationally. In August 2022, we received our first full sets of GCSE and A-Level results with exceptional outcomes. 92.7% of GCSE outcomes were grade 9-4, with 35.4% at grade 9-7; our GCSE progress score was 0.87. At A-Level, 35.3% of grades were A*/A, and 87.3% were grades A*-C; 100% of students achieved grade A*-E, with all students who wished to progress to university achieving their places. We followed this up in 2023 with another set of very pleasing results. 88% of GCSE outcomes were grade 9-4, with 75.2% at grade 9-7; our GCSE progress score was 0.63 (although this is currently not validated). At A-Level, 21.5% of grades were A*/A, and 71.1% were grades A*-C. We also had a student placed at Cambridge for the first time in the school's history.

To continue to develop the vision for Turing House School, we need the very best staff who are able to embed our ethos into their teaching and wider school life. We have already created a wonderful environment for young people to learn and mature in and we continue to develop this as we settle into our permanent site. Our aim is that all our students can be equipped to progress to the jobs, training and higher education most suited to their talents and abilities, irrespective of their social or economic circumstances and ultimately have high aspirations for themselves and their future.

We are currently looking for the following roles to join our team:

  • Head of Computer Science or Computer Science Teacher - MPS to UPS (plus TLR2a for Head of department role). To start January or April 2024.
  • 2ic English - MPS to UPS with TLR2a. To start January or April 2024

Please visit our website to apply for the above roles or apply through TES: https://www.tes.com/jobs/employer/-1067465
