Our campus extends over a splendid area of over 2 hectares where trees and flowers surround the school buildings and the sports fields. The British School of Bucharest offers a wealth of opportunities for learning in superbly resourced classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, dedicated libraries for Primary and Secondary students and outstanding outdoor spaces. This exceptional environment is home to state of the art educational, sporting and artistic facilities. We continue to invest in the latest technology, where appropriate, to bring real-life learning experiences and opportunities for personal growth. Key concepts are presented in ways that enable visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic learners to grasp them.

Through the National Curriculum for England, our students are exposed to many innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) opportunities. These provide invaluable practical experiences that nourish the skills of creativity, flexibility and collaboration and he
lp our students prepare for the future workplace – for jobs that may not currently exist.

The school’s loyal and experienced native English-speaking teachers, working within a British-Curriculum school, plan practical, high-quality and child-centred lessons focused on active learning where a culture of mutual respect and support is valued along with high achievement.

In an ‘Era of Change’, we value highly the importance of working in partnership with our students to develop their independent thinking, to build their own learning pathways and to discover their passions, creativity and interests. The 2018 Independent School Inspectorate (ISI) report concludes that “The good progress of BSB students is a result of teaching that is well-planned and effectively delivered” and assesses the British School of Bucharest as “excellent” in educational quality. The key findings are that “the quality of pupils’ learning and achievement is excellent” and that “the quality of pupils’ personal development is excellent”. This is an outstanding result for the school, driven by our teachers and leadership team. The ISI report also makes clear that “Good behaviour in lessons results from motivating teaching which reflects teachers’ extensive subject knowledge and understanding of the pupils’ needs. Appropriate teaching methods lead to effective learning throughout the school”.

We pride ourselves in having created a school where every student is cared for, respected, treated equally and is a confident, motivated, active and enquiring contributor to our BSB family.
