Games Computing Teacher
Lincoln UTC is a specialist science, technology, engineering and maths school for 14 to 19 year olds. We are much smaller than most schools with only 200 students on role. In addition to our specialist curriculum we offer students the chance to study in what is a unique learning environment. We are fortunate to work in an £8 million, state of the art building in the centre of Lincoln city. The atmosphere within the UTC is very mature, calm and purposeful. We don’t have any Key Stage 3 students. Behaviour is excellent. Attendance is excellent and the relationships between students and staff are positive and respectful. We don’t have a uniform. All students wear business dress. We don’t have bells. We expect our students to behave as adults and, on the whole, they live up to these expectations.
We are seeking to appoint a full time games computing Teacher who has a passion for achievement in teaching and who will support our unique curriculum delivery. Although KS5 Games Computing will be the majority of the teaching commitment, the successful candidate will also be expected to teach some computer science at KS4.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced games computing specialist with a passion for computer programming and a working knowledge of Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine 4. The qualifications currently on offer to students are from the series of AQA Tech Levels in Video Games (TVQ01022 to TVQ01024).
You will be required to provide a minimum of 2 recent and relevant references. The role is also subject to an Enhanced DBS check, overseas police clearances where applicable and the UTC will carry out checks on eligibility to work in the UK and qualification checks where appropriate.
