Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a forward thinking and dynamic Head of Faculty who can teach French to KS4 and Spanish to KS5.

‘I love working with the MFL team in such an exciting school with so many delightful students who come to school every day excited to learn.'

Mrs Armstrong – Head of MFL

Fullbrook is a mixed 11-18 Academy classified by Ofsted in March 2017 as Good. In 2018, 85% of students achieved 4+ in GCSE English and 82% of students achieved 4+ in maths.

At Fullbrook we believe that all students should be challenged to achieve more than they ever thought possible, and offer a variety of extra-curricular activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh scheme to enhance our students’ talents.

This is an established, well run faculty with clear structures and effective processes, enabling the teachers to focus on further developing teaching and learning of languages for all students. In a year where there has been a lot of media coverage about the demise of languages, we are delighted that 73% of students studying languages at Fullbrook achieved at least a grade 4.

You will take the initiative and work well as part of a team and will need to be an excellent communicator, have sound organisational skills and have the drive and ability to continue to empower the teachers in this dedicated team. You will build on the existing solid foundation to further grow the faculty, with innovative ideas to ensure that all students have the opportunity to make excellent progress.

The MFL Faculty consists of a dedicated and vibrant team who work well together to raise achievement and provide students with an outstanding MFL education.

Fullbrook offers an innovative, fully tailored CPD programme which supports the needs of staff and encourages progression.

As a leading member of the Guildford Education Partnership Multi-academy Trust (GEP), Fullbrook works closely with George Abbot and other partner schools to share expertise and resources to ensure a broad curriculum provision and high quality teaching.

Details of the school can be found on our school website

Closing date: Monday 26 February 2019.

Fullbrook is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS clearance.
