Job overview

Robert Barclay Academy is part of the Scholars’ Education Trust. An exciting opportunity has recently arisen and we are seeking to appoint a hardworking, ambitious and dynamic teacher to be Head of our increasingly popular 6th Form.

Our Sixth Form role is starting to grow in numbers (in line with the growing numbers coming into the school due to rising popularity of the school). The Sixth Form has continued to provide excellent outcomes for our Post 16 learners and these outcomes have allowed our Sixth Form students to secure successful destinations in line with their preferred aspirations. We are looking for an ambitious and committed leader who will build on the recent successes and help us to play a key role in our journey towards excellence.

You will be a dedicated practitioner with the desire, energy and drive to further improve standards of achievement and ensure teaching is of the highest quality across all key stages.

This is a very exciting time to join a dynamic team of staff who are all committed to the continued progression the school is making. In March 2023, Ofsted judged the school to be ‘Good’ in all areas. As part of this Ofsted inspection, the parents were effervescent of their praise for the school (Ofsted Parent View).

As a member of the Scholars Education Trust, you will benefit from the many opportunities to collaborate with Heads of Sixth Form leaders from other schools in the Trust. As part of a very successful and highly regarded Trust, we offer an innovative induction programme and professional development programme both at RBA and across the Trust, recognising that our staff are the key to our success. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and forward-looking individual, and we welcome your application

If you are interested in joining us at this exciting time, further details and an application pack is available from HR@scholarseducationtrust.co.uk or on 01727 734424.

Closing date for applications: 9am Wednesday 22nd May

Date of Interview: TBC

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

Diversity: The Scholars’ Education Trust is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We want to attract and retain the very best staff in all areas of the trust, ensuring our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community.

RBA recognise the negative impacts of under representation and lack of diversity in the education system and in all aspects of our society. RBA is committed to providing professional development to all staff, for example anti-racism training to enhance our understanding of the impact of unconscious bias in education. Please be prepared to discuss the impacts of unconscious bias in education.
