Career Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced qualified teacher to join our pastoral team as the Head of Year 12. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to students, ensuring they achieve their academic potential and are well-prepared for their future endeavours.. (This opportunity is not open to first year ECTs.)
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Year 12 pastoral curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and objectives. Collaborate with subject teachers to enhance teaching and learning practices, monitor academic progress, and implement interventions where necessary.
Student Support: Act as a primary point of contact for Year 12 students, offering guidance, mentoring, and pastoral care to support their academic, personal, and emotional development. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success and well-being.
Parental Engagement: Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress, achievements, and any concerns. Organise parents’ evenings, workshops, and information sessions to promote parental involvement in their child's education.
Career Guidance: Provide comprehensive guidance and support to Year 12 students in their post 16 endeavours. Offer assistance with university applications, scholarship opportunities, vocational training, and career pathways, ensuring students are well-informed and prepared for life beyond secondary school.
Student Discipline and Welfare: Uphold school policies and procedures regarding student conduct, discipline, and welfare. Address any behavioural or disciplinary issues promptly and effectively, working collaboratively with students, parents, and relevant stakeholders to resolve concerns and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow colleagues administrators, and support staff to promote a cohesive and collaborative approach to student development and school improvement initiatives. Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required

This fully inclusive secondary co-educational school was established in 2018 to meet an urgent rising local demand.
The site of our new building and extensive grounds is opposite Lloyd Park in South Croydon, with an excellent Tramlink service to and from East Croydon station (just 5-minute journey-time away,) and a short walk from several bus routes.
