Marjory Kinnon School is an all-age special school at an exciting time in its history. We will move into a brand-new, purpose built school building in February 2018. This means our pupil numbers increase by over 50% to 288 in the coming years, making us one of the largest SEND schools in the country.
We are now seeking to appoint an exceptional, dynamic Headteacher to lead us through an exciting period of growth and development, as we make the most of our new building and prepare to grow in size.

We are looking for a Headteacher who has:

The drive, vision, ambition and energy to achieve excellence for all our pupils.

A passion to provide the best possible learning and teaching, across the primary and secondary curricula. Proven leadership qualities and the ability to challenge, inspire and motivate colleagues through change.

A proven record as an imaginative, innovative, resourceful and decisive leader.

An understanding of the current educational climate with regard to sustainability, academisation and school-to-school support, and a willingness to continuously explore all future options for the school.

A knowledge of how to meet the educational, social and emotional needs of pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities including autism.

Marjory Kinnon School is one of the country’s largest SEND schools. Since having moved into a new purpose built school building in 2018 the school has doubled in size. A well performing school, MKS provides education to 330 pupils between the age of 4 and 16, many of whom have ASC as their primary diagnosed need.
We are a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated, knowledgeable and creativity professionals, over 200 in number, working collaboratively to effectively support every single child in the way they need.
