We are seeking to appoint a committed and talented Learning Mentor with Cover Responsibilities to work at the City of Peterborough Academy.

The successful post holder will be required to work as a Learning Mentor, taking booster groups of pupils to help overcome barriers to learning and also cover classes in the absence of the Class Teacher, including unplanned absence and/or planned absence due to the allocation of PPA time. They will work alongside the Class Teachers to plan and teach exciting and engaging learning opportunities.

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their teaching skills whilst working in a supportive environment. To be successful you must be able to demonstrate:

· excellent communication skills

· the ability to relate to and engage with a wide range of pupils

· great organisational skills

· high standards in terms of achievement and behaviour.

Our academy was opened in September 2013 by the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength with the most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2015 judging the academy as “Outstanding”, noting pupil behaviour as “exemplary”. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential.

In return, the academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust, look to support staff in their careers and offer first class CPD and opportunities for career progression. 

This role is for 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday and is required in term time only; therefore this is reflected in the pro rata salary.
