Job overview

Nursery Class Teacher

Full time

Competitive inner London salary

Required from September 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Goresbrook Primary. We are looking for a highly driven and passionate individual to join us and play a significant role in the development of our Nursery team. As the Nursery Class Teacher you will understand the importance of the development of children within the Nursery.

The success of Goresbrook is underpinned by a dynamic, driven and highly motivated team of professionals, working and learning in a warm and friendly environment. We passionately believe that all our children have infinite potential, and it is our job to empower them. We are determined to make a difference for all of our pupils and require like-minded leaders to join us!

The role:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a candidate wanting to develop their leadership skills in a supportive and developmental environment and to have a real impact on the lives of children. At Goresbrook, we are committed to a child-centred approach and have successfully embedded a well-resourced, creative learning environment that develops children as independent learners.

Goresbrook has excellent CPD opportunities for all staff and has a welcoming social community. Staff health and wellbeing are extremely important to us with opportunities and incentives such as staff breakfasts, netball, PPA work from home once a half term, after school activities such as our netball team, which contribute to our supportive and friendly environment.

About you:

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about improving the educational experiences of young people. Whether you are a newly qualified teacher or an experienced teacher, we are looking for someone who is able to organise a structured and stimulating learning environment for our youngest pupils and develop the ethos of our Nursery provision. You will have experience of delivering the EYFS curriculum, have a clear ethos about outside learning and have a proven track record of providing opportunities for child-initiated learning. Our ideal candidate displays a willingness to foster and develop home-school links and shows enthusiasm, motivation and creativity.

About us:

We are a 2/3 form entry school, from nursery to year 6, and are extremely proud of our team who continually work towards providing our students with the best possible learning outcomes. You will be joining us in our new school building, which has been designed to provide an environment tailored to benefit both children as well as staff (including free on-site parking!)

We are a hard-working team, where all staff are encouraged to develop themselves and to take ownership of being a leader in their own role. We are passionate about developing leadership at every level and committed to working with staff to facilitate their continuous professional development. There are numerous training opportunities for professional development, and the chance to work alongside other schools within United Learning. In addition, we also work closely with our five sister academies within the East London Primary Cluster. As a United Learning School, our staff benefit from higher than average pay, 3 additional INSET days for planning , an additional personal day a year, cash towards medical treatment and a generous staff discount scheme.

We would love to speak to you about this opportunity and visits to the school are warmly encouraged. Please call or email the school office and we will be happy to arrange this.
