Job overview

Thetford Grammar School is one of the oldest educational establishments in the country, with our foundations as a seat of learning dating back over 1400 years. Part of the school is built on the site of a 13th Century Dominican Friary known as Old School. Today, the school is entering an exciting new era as we prepare to open our first international nursery campus in China.

TGS is delighted to offer the unique opportunity of devising and establishing our international early years curriculum.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Head to lead a team of early years practitioners in developing a bespoke programme of learning for delivery to pupils aged 3-6 in Changsha, China. The team will begin planning and preparation in Thetford this summer, ahead of opening the nursery in October.

We are seeking an inspirational, dynamic individual capable of motivating and guiding colleagues. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success and an extensive understanding of EYFS/Pre-Preparatory education. The role will be a challenging and busy one requiring collaboration with colleagues in China and the UK. A flexible approach and an aptitude for team work will be essential.

Our founding Deputy Head will demand high standards of themselves and others and will act at all times as an ambassador for TGS. They will have the full support of a Head who is widely renowned within the educational sector in China, our senior and middle leaders in the UK, and a parent body fully invested in their child's success.

If you are excited by the challenge of creating and implementing an innovative curriculum that will deliver excellent outcomes for pupils as well as becoming a template for our ambitious expansion plans, we would welcome hearing from you.

A generous remuneration package including transport, accommodation and meals will be available to the right candidate.
