Date posted:
Start date: 1st September 2018
Contract type: Full Time
Salary: Undisclosed
Contract term: Permanent

Following the successful promotion of the current EYFS leader, we are seeking to appoint an experienced nursery teacher or practitioner to lead the nursery team.

Who are we?

Manchester Communication Primary Academy opened its doors in September 2014 to a small cohort of EYFS/Y1 children, since then it has grown by a 2-form year group each year. The school is currently up to Y4 and is embarking on the next phase of its journey – upper KS2.

Our recent Ofsted inspection graded the school as ‘Good’ in all areas as ‘The Principal has created a school with a ‘heart’; a kind, caring and supportive community. There are 25 different languages spoken yet every pupil is treated as a member of the same family.’ (Ofsted 2017)

Who are we looking for?

First and foremost, we are looking for an excellent early years practitioner with the ability to model high quality teaching and learning. You may hold qualified teacher or early years practitioner status or you may be an experienced level 3 or 4 practitioner.

We are looking to appoint someone who holds our values of honesty, trustworthiness, bravery and helpfulness to become an inspiring leader of our nursery team and member of our whole school leadership team.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to build on the existing good practice in nursery to make MCPA the nursery provision of choice in the area, including the possible development of new provision for 2 year old children.

What does the role involve?

This role is for a dynamic and organised leader; in addition to ensuring that the quality of teaching and learning remains high-quality in nursery, you will be responsible for the organisation and management of the environment, team, resources and budget in order to ensure all children are safe and achieve well.

You will work alongside the reception/Y1 leaders to ensure that standards are high across all of the lower-school and that the transition from nursery to reception is well-managed.

When does the role start?

The start-date for the role is the 1st of September 2018

What is the salary?

Candidates with QTS/EYPS: MPS 1-6 (£22,912 - £33,823) + £2,000 or

Candidates without QTS/EYPS: A8 - A14 (£18,036 - £21,992) +£2,000 [0.86 pro-rata for term-time only].

If I’m still interested, what should I do next?

We think that applying for a new role should always be seen as a 2-way process, you have to be right for us, but the school also has to be right for you. So if you are interested in applying, please do give us a call to arrange a visit or informal telephone conversation with the Principal or Vice Principal to discuss the role further.

Manchester Communication Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure for a Regulated Activity via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
