About the Sixth Form
Newcastle Sixth Form College is an aspirational and inclusive community dedicated to helping young people fulfil their potential. Students thrive in a culture of mutual respect, increased freedom, and high expectations. Over 450 students applied to university from NSFC last year, with many of them the first members of their family to do so. Student progress is in the top 25% nationally and students at the college are 11% more likely to progress to university based on their GCSE results than at other providers.
Key responsibilities
You will support, advise, challenge and monitor both individuals and groups of A level students to ensure they have high attendance and make effective progress towards an aspirational progression plan. You will work closely with parents/guardians and teachers to make sure that students have clear actions that will enable them to progress academically, and work towards positive destinations post-16.
Who we are looking for
You will be an inspirational and hardworking graduate, who believes in the transformative power of education. You will be a confident communicator who is equally comfortable whether speaking to 16-18 year olds, parents/guardians, or teachers, during 1:1 tutorials, facilitation of personal development classes, and telephone correspondence.
You will be a self starter looking to develop your skills and knowledge. You will undertake an intensive training programme before you start work to help develop the skills you need to support students effectively. You will be joining a happy and successful team who are dedicated to improving the life chances of the young people that we work with.

Newcastle Sixth Form College
Established in 2013, Newcastle Sixth Form College focuses on academic qualifications with an emphasis on providing students with the qualifications they need to progress to University.
NSFC attracts students from over 100 schools from Newcastle and across the North East to access our dedicated facilities and broad A Level offer, with 27 subjects available to study.
Our students choose NSFC for our inclusive approach. They welcome the opportunity to study subject combinations that allow them to progress, in an environment which bridges the gap between school and university. We have also developed a strong ‘respect’ ethos within the college and student feedback indicates that they feel safe and supported regardless of their background, gender or other characteristics; this is because we strongly maintain that there should be no barrier to success at NSFC.
As well as expert A Level tuition we have an enrichment offer of over 40 activities designed to socially and physically develop our students and help prepare them for their next step.

Working at Newcastle Sixth Form College
We have 100 staff, around 70 of whom are teachers. The college offers the opportunity for enthusiastic subject specialists to focus on Key Stage 5 delivery, working with highly motivated students.
