Job overview

Physical Education Teachers

Full time Required from October 2017 / January 2018

Clifton High School is an academically selective, co-educational, independent day school for 600 pupils aged 3-18 years. Situated on a beautiful Bristol site, we operate the Diamond Edge Model of education underpinned by a strong pastoral and family ethos.

Sport, physical education and Games play an important role in the personal development of all pupils across the School.  As such, we are looking to appoint Physical Education specialists.  Our sports facilities include an on-site first-class swimming pool, recently upgraded, MUGA (Multi User Games Area) and a gymnasium with climbing wall; further extensive facilities are shared with our partners, the University of Bristol, at the nearby Coombe Dingle Sports complex.

We would like to hear from well-qualified Physical Education teachers; applications from County players are desirable. The ability to teach a full range of Games and PE to girls, boys and mixed groups as well as the ability to run teams and extra-curricular activities is essential.  The role will involve considerable contribution to after-school and weekend sports events and fixtures.   The successful candidate will teach all age groups, from 3-18 years; experience of teaching Years 1 to 6 would be an advantage but is not a pre-requisite.

Clifton High School is committed to supporting and developing new teachers and applications from NQTs are welcome.  We work closely with the Independent Schools Teacher Induction Panel (IStip) and have been congratulated on our best practice.  A commitment to the wider education of pupils through extra-curricular activities is an expectation.

Further details can be found at www.cliftonhigh.bristol.sch.uk Completed application forms should be accompanied by a covering letter of application, illustrating how the requirements of the post will be met, and emailed to the Head of School, Dr Alison Neill at recruitment@cliftonhigh.bristol.sch.uk  Early applications are welcome and the School reserves the right to appoint at any stage during the selection process.

Closing date for applications: 17th September 2017

Culture of Safety

Clifton High School is committed to safeguarding children and young people and expects all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
