St Teresa's College, Abergowrie is a secondary boarding school for boys and part of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Townsville. The school is located in the Herbert Valley 35 km north-west of Ingham, 2 hours north of Townsville, North QLD.

The role of School Officer – Administration is to deliver quality focussed reception and administrative activities to support St Teresa’s College. As a point of contact is integral, this position presents a professional image and creates a welcoming, warm and positive impression whether via phone, email or in person.
The School Officer – Administration will be required to undertake a broad range of administrative tasks to support the school community and will offer diversity with scope of work being undertaken.

What we are looking for: 

  • Skilled applicants preferably with recent administration and/or reception experience in a school or other environment
  • Ability to maintain front reception and be the first point of contact
  • Computer Literacy across a variety of programs including Microsoft Office
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent communication both verbal and written
  • Confident, well-presented and engaging with the ability to build rapport with staff and parents
  • Strong time management skills and able to demonstrate a proactive mindset
  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card or eligibility to obtain same
  • Year 12 Certificate

The Duties of the Administration Assistant/Enrolment Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Represent St Teresa’s as the first point of contact in a professional, warm, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Utilise and maintain office equipment including photocopier/Fax, laminator, binding, guillotine and stock paper trays.
  • Assist with the preparation of meetings and functions.
  • Provide basic reception duties that meets the day to day requirements of the school including
  • Production of basic documents – letters, registers, spreadsheets
  • Assist in the production of internal and external documents
  • Sort, prepare and file documents as required
  • Maintain visitor book
  • Support the delivery of operational tasks associated with reception including:
  • Mail management and distribution
  • Responding to incoming telephone and email enquiries
  • Dealing professionally with and directing enquiries of parents , visitors, contractors
  • Data entry to support registers and record management
  • Administrative tasks as required to support the functionality of St Teresa’s Catholic College.
  • Administrative task in relation to Vocational Education & Training and Careers.
