Do you have dreams and aspirations to make teaching and learning fun, engaging and attractive for students and want a supportive SLT to help you achieve this?
Sotogrande International School is for you!
The School: Situated on a spacious, leafy campus with impressive facilities, Sotogrande International School is a growing IB World day and boarding school offering the IB programmes throughout from PYP in our Primary School, to MYP in our Middle School and through to the IB Diploma in our Upper School. Now in its 39th year, the school has grown steadily and enjoys a strong reputation for quality education in Spain. The student body will grow to over 1000 students by September 2018.
We are currently full in a number of year groups and have waiting lists. We have over 130 students studying the IB Diploma Programme in our Upper School, where academic standards are high.
The most recently graduated cohort scored an average IB Diploma score of 33 points, with 10% achieving 40 points or more, which we are really proud of considering we are non selective. We are not however, just an academically focused school. Our drive is to educate the whole child and support students to explore their own gifts and talents, helping them to find their passions and purpose in life.
In our recent programme visit from the Council of International Schools (CIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), we were praised on our teaching and learning, our student engagement, our teacher well being and energy, our leadership and vision.
Due to increased student numbers we are seeking applications from energetic, creative and innovative teachers with a recognised teaching qualification and degree (both are essential).
A commitment to personalised learning in the classroom is imperative, as is a belief in continual self-improvement. Professional development at the school is well supported, complemented by a strong internal support programme.
We are looking for innovative, positive, flexible, outstanding teachers who go above and beyond to make the learning experience for the student truly inspirational. As an Apple Distinguished School, a commitment to using IT within the classroom is essential. Experiential learning and global citizenship are both core to our philosophy and, along with service learning, these elements drive our curriculum.
We are a high-energy school with an extensive extra curricular programme, including our own student led NGO, The Kindred Project. Applicants are encouraged, in their letter of application, to highlight how they might enhance our thriving boarding, extra-curricular, service and global citizenship programmes.
If you want to make a difference to the education of students and thrive on making a positive impact, we want to hear from you.
