The Old Vicarage School is a family-run independent preparatory day school for boys and girls in the beautiful suburb of Darley Abbey, Derby. Children age from 3 – 11 years old with 150 on roll. You can find more information at www.oldvicarageschool.co.uk

Our school motto translates to ‘Character and Kindness’, which is at the heart of all we do.

At OVS we facilitate learning in combined year group classes and you will be teaching a group of 18 children, half in Year 1 and half in Year 2. There is a partner teacher with a similar class who you will work closely with. We are currently unsure whether any distance learning materials will be required so a familiarity with IT software including MS Teams and Powerpoint would be an advantage.

We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic person, who has a clear understanding of planning and evaluating as appropriate, a curriculum which raises achievement for all children, up to date knowledge of effective practice and the primary curriculum and the need for good record keeping and assessment.

At this time, we are unable to facilitate visits to the school, but we can arrange a telephone meeting with a member of SLT prior to application so we can share all we have to offer.
