The successful applicant will: 

  • Hold a degree in either Arabic or Education
  • Be qualified (have KHDA approval) to teach Arabic to non-native speakers (Arabic B)
  • Be an experienced Primary Arabic Language teacher with proven success
  • Be proficient in English
  • Value being part of an established team and a be ‘team player’
  • Respond to feedback and have the drive to improve practice in-line with the school vision
  • Be talented, highly motivated and have a genuine passion for teaching children and promoting a love for language learning
  • Be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school’s vision, including extracurricular activities
  • Be willing to share expertise, knowledge and skills with the wider school community and maintain a personal commitment to professional development
  • Be committed to inclusive education with a willingness to response to the needs of all children
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to enthuse and motivate others and develop effective partnerships
  • Have high standards of punctuality and attendance

  • Please include a cover letter, limited to one side of an A4 page. Any supplementary details supporting your application can also be uploaded.
  • Provide at least three referees, including their names, telephone numbers (inclusive of international dialing codes) and email addresses. Notably, one of these references must be the Principal / Headteacher of your current employer.  
  • Applications will be processed in the order of receipt and initial interviews will be scheduled week commencing 13th May 2024.

Dubai English Speaking School (DESS) is very proud to be the oldest British school in the United Arab Emirates, established in 1963 by the British Embassy and has over 1,000 students.  We enjoy an excellent reputation and are one of the few not-for-profit British curriculum schools in the region with a long and proud history in Dubai.

Life in Dubai
