Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified Teacher of Biology to join our busy and flourishing school on a maternity cover, starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will teach Biology across Years 9-13, including Combined Science at GCSE.

This position is also suitable for Early Career Teachers, for whom Taunton School has an extensive programme of support.

“The quality of pupils’ overall achievement is good, with many outstanding features. The school is very successful in preparing pupils to shape the world in the 21st century, in line with its ambitious aim. Throughout the school pupils display good, and frequently, excellent levels of understanding, knowledge and skills across all their subjects and activities. Overall, results in public examinations are good in relation to pupils’ abilities, indicating that their progress across the school is above the average for pupils of similar ability, and frequently rapid. Pupils with SEND or EAL progress well because of the support they receive.”
