Job overview
An outstanding opportunity at an outstanding School
We are seeking to recruit a well-qualified and highly motivated graduate to join our highly successful curriculum area, teaching across Key Stages 3 & 4, to A Level. This post is open to NQTs and experienced teachers. Geography is a very popular choice at GCSE and we currently have 190 students studying at Key Stage 4. At A Level there are 50 students.
Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school. In our OFSTED inspection, we were judged as outstanding in every category. The report noted that “students make outstanding progress whatever their starting point or circumstances and the standards they achieve are significantly above national averages”. In 2016 and 2017, the school achieved a positive P8 score, this year placing us in the top 18% of schools in the country. The school is oversubscribed on intake with a ten form entry each year at Year 7.
In 2014, Weatherhead became a Teaching School, and has been supporting neighbouring schools and Initial Teacher Training since. As part of the Peninsula Multi Academy Trust, Weatherhead is committed to a culture of excellence and we are looking for individuals who share that ethos.
In 2015, we were shortlisted for the TES National Award for best Mathematics team in the country.
The school has also received many awards including Arts Mark Gold, Centre of Excellence for Leadership (National College) and Cultural Diversity Quality Standard.
Through our work as a Teaching School we offer outstanding CPD and Leadership Training for all staff.
