Job overview

Thetford Grammar School requires a qualified Teacher of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 for a full-time post commencing September 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.

With a history as a seat of learning stretching back over 1400 years, today we are a 3-19 day and boarding school that achieves excellent outcomes for pupils at every stage of education.

Across our school, small classes, hard-working pupils, caring teachers, and excellent parent-teacher relationships combine to ensure the highest standards of academic and personal development. In our Prep school, pupils follow our bespoke Exploration Curriculum which supports our mission for pupils to 'discover the world,' whilst maintaining standards beyond those expected of nationally.

The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and teaching skills, and will embrace an innovative approach to the curriculum.

The role will involve working with a small team who are dedicated to the academic attainment and pastoral development of pupils aged 3-11. A passionate enthusiasm for the pedagogy of young learners, and a collaborative approach with an emphasis on sharing best practice within the Prep School are essential. All staff are expected to contribute to the extra-curricular clubs programme.

The ability to deliver Music and/or PE and Games sessions across the Prep school would be a distinct advantage.

We would welcome applications from candidates in the state or independent sectors and at all phases of their career, including ECTs.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person - if you would like to be part of Thetford Grammar School and you have the skills that we need, please contact our HR Officer via hr@thetgram.norfolk.sch.uk for further information, or to arrange an informal conversation with the Head.
