Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and inspiring teacher to join our high-performing curriculum area. This post is open to ECTs looking to begin their career at an Outstanding and World-Class School or for experienced teachers. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified professionals for full- or part-time working.

Media Studies and Film Studies are popular subjects, and we are looking to appoint a candidate who can offer diverse and engaging lessons in order to secure the best outcomes for our students throughout Years 10–13. At KS4, we offer the BTEC Tech Award in Creative Media Production. At Post-16, we run the BTEC National Creative Media Production and Eduqas A Level Film Studies courses. The department has exceptional resources and students benefit from additional in-class support from our Media Technician and Assistant.

Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school. We are accredited with ‘World-Class Schools’ status, giving us recognition that we have moved beyond our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted status and have improved student progress, aspiration, and achievement to such an extent that our students rival those of the best schools nationally and internationally. We are very proud of this external recognition that our students are truly world-class.

The school consistently achieves significantly above the national average in examination results, has positive scores for both Progress 8 and Attainment 8 at GCSE and consistently high performance in both A Level and all Applied Level courses. Through our work as a Training School, and via the World-Class Schools network, we offer outstanding ECT Programmes, ongoing CPD for all staff as well as a Wellbeing calendar and sessions open to all. Weatherhead is committed to a culture of excellence and we are looking for an individual who shares that ethos.

Closing date: 3.30 pm on Tuesday 7th June, but early applications are welcome and will be considered upon receipt.

Weatherhead is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.  An enhanced DBS, with barred list check, will be required for this post.
