The College is seeking to appoint a creative and enthusiastic teacher who has excellent subject knowledge as a permanent, part-time Teacher of Music Technology (FTE 0.6). The Music department offers A Level Music (EDUQAS), RSL Music (Performing) and A Level Music Technology (EDEXCEL). The Music Department has recently moved into state of the art facilities, including fully equipped studios, sound-proof booths and rehearsal rooms.
The Department has an excellent reputation for musical performance and organises a number of annual events which contribute to College life, for example, the Christmas Concert, a Spring Festival, the Spring Concert and Battle of the Bands gig. Our students often join performances organised by local musical societies and choirs. Many go on to pursue higher education courses in Music and Music Technology to degree level, both at university and Conservatoire.
This post is suitable both for experienced teachers and those beginning their career in the profession. Above all, we are seeking someone with an excellent knowledge of Music Technology and the ability to make the subject come alive for our students. We also want to appoint a good team player who will be skilful at motivating and encouraging colleagues to try out new approaches and resources. The person appointed must be confident in the use of Information Technology in all aspects of their work.
The salary for this post is up to £24,571.21per annum (61.90% of £39,695 FTE) including PSP and the Reigate College Allowance. A management responsibility allowance of £1,264 per annum may also be available for a suitably qualified and experienced applicant.
