We are looking for a teacher of Science to join our team at St. Sampson's High School with effect from 1st January 2020. This is an excellent opportunity at an exciting time in the development of the school under a new structure for secondary and post 16 education.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting and raising students’ individual achievements with innovative ideas to build on existing good practice, alongside being able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning. You will lead a team who identify, support and deliver personalised opportunities for students and deliver the new Bailiwick Curriculum including a range of international and UK qualifications. We also expect you to make a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of the school, offering a commitment to the broad range of enrichment activities that are available in the school. The person appointed should be committed to the role in the context of the development of the new school model.
About the Education Service:
Currently, the Guernsey Federation of Secondary Schools includes the Guernsey Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre, St Sampson, Les Beaucamps and La Mare de Carteret High Schools, alongside St Anne’s in Alderney. Secondary and Post 16 education is undergoing a period of exciting change on the island which includes a planned new structure with one 11-18 all ability school on two sites.

Employed by the States of Guernsey and based at St. Sampson's High School you will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across Key Stages and shared professional development across schools. There is an expectation that you will engate in cross-school collaboration which may require working on more than once site to meet the needs of the Education Service. The transition plans for the new structure may also mean you will work from an alternative site.
