Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
Grade 2 or 3 (depending upon experience and qualifications)
27.5 hours per week, term time only.
This post is fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance as it is to support a specific student for whom funding is received.
This post will involve working with a specific student who is joining the school in year 7 in September 2018. This young person has complex needs and is diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum. You will be required to provide first class support to learning and teaching, supporting the student’s academic and social needs.
The successful person will have a good understanding and experience of how to support students with such needs. Excellent interpersonal skills, good language and communication skills are essential. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work within a team, taking direction, but also taking initiative when required. You will also be able to relate effectively to students and be able to implement agreed behaviour management strategies.
The successful candidate must have GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade C or above.
