A T Level1
is a composite technical study programme, aimed at preparing young people for work, higher level
apprenticeships or higher education (HE). It comprises 4 key components:
• an approved technical qualification (TQ), which includes the opportunity to specialise in at least one
occupational role
• a substantial industry placement with an external employer (further information regarding the required number
of hours can be found on page 8)
• employability, enrichment and pastoral (EEP) elements
• in some cases, it may also include mandatory additional requirements (MAR), such as important licence to
practice qualifications
The T Level Technical Qualification in Health forms part of the new T Level in Health. The outline content has been
produced by T Level panels based on the same standards as those used for apprenticeships. The outline content
formed the basis of this qualification and has been further developed by NCFE.
The TQ in health has 2 components:
• core component:
o route core component
o pathway core component
• occupational specialism component:
o Dental Nursing
o occupational specialism core: supporting healthcare (plus one from options A to E):
▪ option A: Supporting the Adult Nursing Team
▪ option B: Supporting the Midwifery Team
▪ option C: Supporting the Mental Health Team
▪ option D: Supporting the Care of Children and Young People
▪ option E: Supporting the Therapy Teams

Some of the core topics and ideas are broken down and contextualised in more detail within the occupational specialisms, allowing students to apply the knowledge and skills in their own specific context
