It’s no secret that recruiting teachers is a challenge faced by almost every school leadership team in the country.
Getting a new recruit that fits your school’s culture can be a time-consuming and often costly business. That’s why schools are increasingly looking within their own cohort of teaching assistants when making appointments.
It’s a method used by assistant headteachers Emma Boyd and Sam Rutter, with the latter having begun her own career as a TA. In this webinar, they’ll explain how their respective schools have put structures in place to upskill TAs and simultaneously tackle their recruitment problems.
They’ll also be sharing how they have successfully enrolled and supported 11 TAs to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) using Tes’ Straight to Teaching programme.
