LEARNING LEAD FOR ICT & COMPUTING – TLR2B

(Additional TLR for Quality Nominee available for the right candidate)

Do you have what it takes to ensure that ICT and Computing moves forward with your drive, knowledge and attention to detail?

There are new and exciting challenges daily in education and as a Computing and ICT specialist you will be acutely aware of this. In Computing and ICT at EWS, students are challenged from the beginning of Year 7 to work with and gain inspiration from a wide range of practical and coding experiences. We keep the level of challenge high; our students are vibrant and dynamic young people and work with us towards their BTEC ICT qualification at Level 2 and Level 3 or our Level 2 OCR iMedia which all have elements of Web Design and HTML subject focus.

With potential for an additional responsibility as the Quality Nominee for BTEC provision, you will also be the main point of contact for information related to quality assurance and we will be involved in monitoring and supporting staff.

Visits to the school are encouraged - to arrange a visit please contact Ella Lloyd-Jones, Assistant Headteacher at: ella.lloyd-jones@ewsacademy.org.uk

There are many attractive benefits to working at EWS, including:

• Rural location

• On site Nursery

• On-site parking

• Swimming pool/gym membership

• Joining the network of TOVE Learning Trust schools and the SWAN Teaching School Alliance, gaining access to local curriculum networks along with a wide range of opportunities for continued professional development at all levels.

Rated as a good school by Ofsted in May 2014, Elizabeth Woodville School is a high-achieving comprehensive school across two sites serving many villages and the fringes of both Northampton and Milton Keynes. EWS joined Tove Learning Trust in 2016, whose vision is to ensure all pupils are provided with outstanding educational experiences that lead to outstanding outcomes. The school is ambitious and well managed with an inspiring learning environment for both students and staff.

Closing date: 13 February 2018 - please submit a supporting statement along with your application form.

The governors of Elizabeth Woodville School and the Trustees of Tove Learning Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Elizabeth Woodville School is an inclusive comprehensive school with approximately 1100 students. Elizabeth Woodville is part of Tove Learning Trust which is a rapidly growing trust whose vision is to ensure that all pupils in the trust academies are provided with outstanding educational experiences that lead to outstanding outcomes. This includes all aspects of school life with pupils achieving to the very best of their ability.

Our school is located on two sites, Roade and Deanshanger. We operate as one school with staff working across both sites, however the successful candidate will be based at one site only. There are however many benefits to us being on two sites, including access to excellent sporting facilities, a broad and balanced curriculum with a range of options to choose in key stage 4 and good quality staff. The most important benefit for our students is that each site has an excellent pastoral system which means that all students are known, and no one becomes just a number.

Our ambition is to create an exciting and vibrant learning community where students enjoy success in and outside of the classroom.

Our school values of: ambition, confidence, curiosity, leadership and respect are important as they are qualities which will enable our students to succeed whatever their future ambitions.

We believe that all staff and pupils should be treated with respect and have built a culture based on respect for each other, resilience to meet new challenges and take responsibility for our actions and our learning. Our recent Ofsted report confirms that we are going in the right direction and that we have a clear understanding of what we need to improve and how to improve.
