Learning Support Assistant

We are looking for an experienced LSA to support the learning and achievement of a child with SEND

We are looking to appoint an experienced SEN Learning Assistant who will play a key role in individual and small group support for identified children with special educational needs. The successful individual will support the Class Teacher in the teaching and welfare of specific children, ensuring they attain the targets set. Supporting communication, social, emotional and behavioural development is integral to this role.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Assist in preparing the classroom-learning environment

• Assist in planning activities and preparing materials to help children access the curriculum

• Lead and support activities, indoors and outdoors to meet the specific needs of children

• Assist in monitoring children's progress, assessing achievement and recording results and observations, sharing outcomes with the class teacher

Salary £12,265 pro-rata £15,461 (Grade 3 of the support staff pay scale)

Hours of work will be Monday-Friday 8.30am-3.30pm for 39 weeks per year plus a 1 hour weekly staff meeting (33.5 hrs per week).
