Job overview
Required to coach sculling during afternoon sessions with our Senior School pupils. The successful candidate will be able to:
• work with all ages and abilities as part of a committed coaching team
• work core hours of four afternoon sessions a week (approximately 11 hours) Mondays and Tuesdays 3pm – 5.00pm Thursdays 2.00pm – 5.00pm Saturdays 1pm – 5pm
• attend competitions and events when required
• work term-time and during school holidays by arrangement
• and will be enthusiastic and passionate about working with children and developing their abilities.
The Wycliffe boathouse is based at Saul Junction on the Gloucester-Sharpness canal with around 30km of water available to row on. Duties will include working with all ages and abilities as part of a committed coaching team. The majority of coaching is term-time although there may be the need to coach during school holiday sessions by arrangement. UKCC level 2/IA equivalent coaching award desirable.

Wycliffe is an HMC co-educational day and boarding school. Wycliffe is located in Stonehouse, approximately 25 miles north of Bristol and 15 miles south of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Access via the motorway network is convenient (we are 3 miles from the M5) and there is a train station in Stonehouse (on the main line from London to Cheltenham) which is just a two minute walk from the school gates. In the Senior School pupils join at Year 9 (age 13) and continue until Year 13 (age 18). There are around 420 pupils in the school and 225 in the Sixth Form. Some 27 subjects are offered at A Level including Japanese, Film Studies, Computer Science and Psychology. Three BTECs are on offer as well as the EPQ. Main sports are rugby, football and cricket for boys with hockey, netball and tennis for girls. Wycliffe is the top school in the UK for squash, and excels at rowing and basketball and there is a thriving CCF.
