PERMANENT TEACHING ASSISTANTS

1 x 18.75 hours per week-actual salary starts £7712

 1 x 21 hours per week-actual salary starts £8638

Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is seeking to appoint two skilled teaching assistants to work with children with additional communication and language needs. These positions would be ideal for candidates who have an interest in speech and language provision and are maybe seeking experience of working in a supportive primary setting before undertaking teacher training. We are a forward-thinking primary school who actively encourage development opportunities for our staff team. 

Candidates should have:

• GCSE at C or above in English and Maths 

• Level 2 NVQ in a relevant area (or equivalent qualification)

• Experience of working in a primary setting

• A desire to support children with special educational needs, particularly in communication and language

• the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• a patient and understanding approach to working with children

• a positive outlook

The ability to use Makaton would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.
