Closing date 30 October 2018

Vision For Education are recruiting for a Calderdale based school who are opening a small Alternative Provision base within our school campus, and are looking to recruit an Alternative Provision Lead Teacher who can help project manage this new development for this Secondary High School, and who can lead our centre thereafter.

We are looking for a colleague with a strong pupil centred background, and experience of providing one to one education, mentoring and support tutoring to individual students, along with the ability to plan and deliver lessons and learning for young people in group settings, aiming at students who will benefit from time away from the regular curriculum, who will be engaged in stand-alone Design and Technology, Food, Horticulture and other cross curricular tasks.

Our vision is to operate safe, calm and orderly groups where learning is project focused, delivering a personalised curriculum that develops key skills, such as problem solving, collaborative working, Skills for Life, growth mindset, empathy and literacy and numeracy. We will also have an emphasis on personal social education, healthy living and eating which will be delivered within a context of nurture and care with an overall aim to enable small step changes to build into positive transformations in individual young people’s lives.

The position will start as soon as possible and will run until the end of the academic year in the first instance. This is an excellent job opportunity for professional development. It could be ideal for someone with experience of teaching a variety of pupils, some with complex and challenging difficulties, but with promise and potential, within a mainstream setting looking for a new challenge - who would relish this opportunity.

Experience of delivering Functional Skills would be desirable, as would experience of working in a High School environment. A colleague with a can-do attitude and a flexible personality is integral to working in our supportive environment.
