The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Paxman Academy for an Assistant Office Manager to join our Administration Team. We are seeking to recruit a proactive and reliable member of staff to enrich the skills and experience already present in our Administration Team. We aim to foster an inclusive culture where everyone is able to learn from each other. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and diligent. 

Paxman Academy is a community in which we believe that every child matters and by working collaboratively we can transform lives and Build Bright Futures. Paxman Academy opened to Year 7 students in September 2019 and is a co-educational, fully comprehensive 11-16 Academy with a PAN of 180. It is a heavily oversubscribed school which is held in high regard in the community. Our recent Ofsted inspection (Feb 24) rated our school as Good.

  • This post is 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus non-pupil days).
  • The start date for this post is flexible and can be decided at interview.

 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Office Manager in providing an efficient administrative service for the whole school
  • Deputising for the Office Manager as and when required
  • Supporting to the Administration Team
  • Monitoring and maintain the Academy’s School Policies
  • Supporting the organisation of school events

We're looking for you if you have:

  • Successful experience of administrative work in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.

Paxman Academy is a newly built, co-educational, fully comprehensive 11-16 academy, which opened its doors in September 2019. In its first two years of opening, the Academy has been a popular choice and is heavily oversubscribed.

The Academy enjoys state of the art buildings, including:

• Seven science laboratories that have been equipped to the highest standard

• Excellent technology facilities, including two well-equipped workshops

• Computer suites, equipped with the most up-to-date hardware

• A large auditorium to enable high quality performances to take place

• A dance studio with a sprung floor
