Bishopswood School is a small successful special school, co-located on the site of three mainstream schools; the school is situated close to Reading.  Our school community is comprised of pupils and young people aged between 2 – 16 years with significant, severe or profound learning difficulties, ASD and complex learning difficulties.   

As a forward looking school we offer access to good facilities and teaching resources.  We recognise the importance of modern technology for both pupils and staff.  All teachers are provided with laptops to use.  We value our staff and are strongly committed in investing in their professional development by providing high quality training opportunities.  We support and facilitate collaborative work across the school and in partnership with other schools, such as Erasmus +.

We have the following vacancies:

One full time class teacher to work at our secondary department required asap.

One full time class teacher to work at our primary department starting in September 2019.

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and energetic individuals and are keen to hear from teachers in primary or secondary mainstream who are looking to move into special educational needs, as well as those currently working in special schools.  NQTs are very welcome to apply.

Salary: TMS/UPS, dependent upon experience, plus 1 SEN point (£2,149).

Bishopswood is a special school in South Oxfordshire (Berkshire border) that provides specialist education for children aged 2—16 years with severe (SLD) or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs, including those children with ASD. Holding an inclusive ethos, Bishopswood endeavours to provide specialist provision alongside its co-located mainstream partners across two sites.
