Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and evolving school team within Winchburgh Primary School. The school is a non-denominational primary with a present roll of 218 primary children and a recently extended 66/66 early learning centre. The school benefits from a mixed catchment area with a Free Meal Entitlement of 19%. The school presently shares a campus with Holy Family RC Primary School.
Winchburgh is a rapidly expanding community due to significant house building in the area and the school roll continues to rise. Both schools work together to effectively utilise the shared campus and there are rich opportunities for joint working. A recently completed extension has provided a new ELC and has also created two further early years classrooms.
The school is currently staffed by a Head Teacher, a Principal Teacher, an Acting Principal Teacher and 12 Class Teachers. In the ELC there is a well-established team of Early Years practitioners. The school is supported effectively by a team of Pupil Support Workers, who assist pupils across the school. Clerical support is provided by an Administrative Assistant. The school runs a very successful Breakfast Club. The school also benefits from a supportive and active Parent Council.
Distributed leadership is promoted across the whole staff. Staff demonstrates strong collegiality and teamwork which maintains and enhances a positive climate for learning across the school.
