Computer Science Teacher/Head of Computer Science

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher/Head of Computer Science to join our thriving department and to be a integral part of our fantastic Computing team. With a passion for their subject, and the promotion of STEM, the successful candidate will teach their specialism across KS3, 4 and 5 and play a key role in preparing students for further and higher study of the subject.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-qualified Teacher to work with some of the highest calibre students in the country. Enrichment opportunities provide a perfect complement to the taught curriculum. Our work leading the NCCE Computer Science Hub provides excellent opportunities for CPD and development work for all colleagues in the team.

All students study Computer Science at KS3 and we have a growing cohort of students opting to study the subject at GCSE and Alevel.

We are ideally seeking a colleague to join us on a part time basis, but would consider full time applications and the ability to teach another subject would be advantageous. Please make this clear in your application, along with reference to weather you are looking at teacher or Head of Computer Science.

Newstead Wood School is a highly selective girls’ state secondary school, with a co-educational Sixth Form. The school is heavily over-subscribed.
