The St John Paul II Multi Academy is a highly successful Catholic Multi Academy encompassing seven Primary Schools and two Secondary Schools. Our schools are based in Sutton Coldfield, Erdington and Aston.

The ethos of St John Paul II Multi Academy is Catholic and was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families.

As a Catholic multi academy, we aim to provide a Catholic education for all our pupils. As a Catholic multi academy, Catholic doctrine and practice permeate every aspect of every one of our school’s activities. It is essential that the Catholic character of the school’s education be fully supported by all staff within the multi academy.  We therefore hope that all staff will give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the St John Paul II Multi Academy.

We are wishing to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our talented and dedicated team as soon as possible on a permanent basis. As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide supervision of pupil learning within the school LRC/Hub (larger groups) or classrooms. You will need to respond to questions, generally assist students to undertake set activities and uphold standards of behaviour in the classroom/learning environment. In addition to cover needs, you will be required to work alongside teaching and classroom based staff to provide general support for departments or deputise in rare occasions in the school office. This is a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the school. It is important for you to be ICT literate and confident working with secondary school age pupils. Experience is not required.

Details of this exciting position can be found on the attached Job Description.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role. St John Paul II Multi Academy is an Equal Opportunities employer. The Multi Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its children and staff and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A DBS check is required for all successful applicants. An online search will be undertaken on all shortlisted candidates.  This search does not form part of the shortlisting process and you will have the opportunity to discuss any issues of concern that may arise from this search at the interview.

The deadline for applications is 12pm on Thursday 23rd May 2024

Please note we do not accept CVs, applications will only be considered if received on a Catholic Education application form.

Values and vision

Bishop Walsh Catholic School’s ethos is built on the Catholic tradition and focuses on social awareness, spiritual development and academic excellence. It wants to support the spiritual, moral, social, vocational and cultural development of all its students. The secondary school believes that all British values – such as democracy, rule of law, mutual respect and individual liberty – are rooted in the teachings of the gospel.

Bishop Walsh's curriculum is broad and balanced to give its pupils a well-rounded education. Teachers understand that all children are individuals created in the image of God, with their own strengths, interests and talents.

Ofsted report

“The school is very well led by a capable and successful principal who has both vision and purpose. He is very ably supported by a highly effective team of senior leaders. The proportion of pupils achieving good GCSE grades, including English and mathematics is much higher than the national average. Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding. The school very successfully promotes tolerance, respect and fairness, ensuring that pupils develop into well-rounded young people.”
