Job overview

Deputy Headteacher (Curriculum)

Bloxwich Academy

Start: September 2024

We want a dynamic and energetic Deputy Headteacher who genuinely wants the best for every single child. Getting the best for every child means making sure the curriculum is not only strong on paper but delivered well by every teacher every single day. We want a Deputy Headteacher who will use the latest research and their emotional intelligence to take staff with them, leading them in designing and delivering the best possible curriculum. We want someone who will not make assumptions about the quality of education but will lead the middle leadership team in rigorously evaluating what is working well and what needs to be improved. We want someone who can walk into any classroom and diagnose precisely why pupils are learning well, as well as what teachers could be doing to make sure pupils learn even more. We want someone who knows there is no such thing as a perfect lesson and will ensure all staff receive regular feedback on their practice so they can be even better.

Our bottom line is this: if a lesson would not be good enough for a member of our own family then it is not good enough for our pupils.

We want the best for every child regardless of where they were born, how much money they do or don’t have and who they are. If you share our relentless drive for school improvement, we would love to hear from you. We want people who will not only grow the next generation but people who are also eager to take every opportunity to grow themselves through our excellent professional development opportunities.

Bloxwich Academy is at an exciting stage of its journey and we need a Deputy Headteacher to drive improvements further, visibly modelling our high expectations. That means not only being an exceptional classroom practitioner in your own right but also someone who will inspire others to strive to improve. If this sounds like you, please get in touch.
