We seek to appoint an exceptional Director of English to lead our highly successful department at Burscough Priory Science College.

Burscough Priory Science College is an 11-16, mixed, non-selective secondary school in Burscough, Lancashire. The community school is smaller than average, serving 700 pupils.
Currently maintained by Lancashire County Council, Burscough Priory Science College is in the process of becoming an academy and will convert during the 2018-19 academic year. The school shares its motto with the United States of America, "E Pluribus Unum".

Values and vision
Burscough Priory Science College aims to ensure students are free from any prejudice based on gender, race, ability, belief or sexual orientation. An appreciation and respect for uniform is also important to the school – students are encouraged to comply with appearance guidelines and take pride in how they look.
The secondary school specialises in science, changing its name to reflect this in 2004, as part of the Specialist Schools programme.
