King’s has embarked on an ambitious, long-term digital strategy and is seeking to appoint a Director of IT to lead the IT Department through this period of development, developing and implementing the digital strategy as well as managing effective and efficient IT support to teaching and learning and to administration departments at King’s.

The director of IT will lead on the development of the school's IT and digital cyber security capabilities and work with internal colleagues and external suppliers to continually advance the school's cyber defences and improve the resiliency of services.

The director of IT is a senior staff member who is responsible for setting the school IT strategy and setting annual budgets, managing external suppliers and contractors, ensuring IT software and hardware are cutting edge and robust, and ensuring that the School IT systems meets the needs of both the staff and pupils of King’s College School (including the Junior School and Wimbledon Common Preparatory School).

The director of IT will line manage the IT team comprising of the following professionals: Helpdesk Manager, Helpdesk technicians (2), IT Systems Engineers (2), AV technician and Database (MIS) Manager.

The director of IT sits on the Digital Strategy Group and will also liaise closely with the bursar, deputy bursar and deputy head. They will also work with the director of Digital Learning and Innovation, IT coordinators in each school, external website managers, and the director of estates.

The successful candidate will be an experienced IT professional, who is highly motivated, with excellent team management skills, capable of interfacing effectively with service users and of delivering a high-level IT strategy as well as ensuring that day-to-day IT services are maintained at a high standard. An honours degree or equivalent and demonstrable IT training qualifications are required.
