This new role provides an exciting career opportunity to lead specialist, highly committed and enthusiastic teachers towards increased excellence. We are seeking a talented, innovative practitioner with a passion for both subjects and who can teach them to GCSE and A level to better prepare students for further education and employment.
Art and Design, Textiles, Technology and Catering are successful and popular subjects within the school, attracting consistently high student numbers at KS4 and KS5. These departments are well resourced in a dedicated separate block containing 2 specialist Art classrooms and 5 specialist Design and Technology classrooms. There are 3 technicians who support in lessons as well as managing and preparing resources. Student work is showcased at the end of the year in an Art exhibition, which is open to the public. We are looking for a passionate leader to thrive in our creative environment by leading on annual set design projects and other whole school projects.
The successful candidate will be asked to provide professional leadership and management of the subject areas to secure quality first teaching and will be accountable for student outcomes and the improved progress of all students.
