Our highly-successful network of 35 schools educates over 20,000 students across Hastings, Birmingham, London and Portsmouth. They are achieving some of the best results in the country despite being largely in areas of historic academic underachievement.

Developing great teachers lies at the heart of our network’s mission and our challenge is to show that it is possible to create the conditions which enable pupils to receive consistently high quality teaching in all of our schools regardless of location and school starting point.  Ark has established a system leading reputation for the quality of its teacher education programmes, including the outstanding Ark Teacher Training and the newly formed Institute for Teaching.

The scope of this role offers a stimulating leadership challenge and our new Director of Teacher Education will bring together our work in Initial Teacher Training and Professional Development. Our aim is to provide continuous professional development progression for all teachers which enables them to both develop personally and build their career within Ark.

•Leading and developing a team of exceptional teacher educators

•Working effectively with Ark Schools’ recruitment team and other recruitment partners in order to secure a strong pipeline of talent into the network

•Ensuring that Ark stays at the forefront of national and international system-wide developments in teacher development
