We're seeking passionate, dynamic and motivated graduate and preservice teachers to join the team at Canberra Goulburn Catholic Education with permanent teaching opportunities available in early learning, primary, secondary schools.

Catholic Education, Archdiocese Canberra & Goulburn (CECG) is an education provider in the ACT and southern NSW region with location settings that include city, rural, coastal, and remote. The Archdiocese spans 88,000 square kilometres from Pambula in the south to Goulburn and Crookwell in the north and Lake Cargelligo in the west.

CECG is among Australia’s leading education systems for teacher professional learning and development.  This has been achieved through the development and implementation of Catalyst, an evidence-based professional learning program based on the Science of Learning and Science of Reading Principles. The program has been developed in collaboration with leading experts such as Dr Lorraine Hammond, Jenny Donovan, Natalie Wexler, Michael Roberts and Toni Hatten-Roberts, amongst others and provides teachers with a suite of curated resources to support development, growth and excellence in teaching and learning.

Graduate Eligibility

  • Anticipated to have successfully completed in 2024:
            Towards Bachelor of Primary or Secondary Education degree:
    • Minimum 72 credit points toward ; and
    • All placements in program for first three years of degree.
      Towards Masters of Primary or Secondary Teaching degree:
    • Minimum 24 credit points toward ; and 
    • All placements in program for first year of degree.
  • Eligible to hold registration with TQI and/or NESA (CECG will support you to gain Permit to Teach)
  • Have valid working rights within Australia

Selection Criteria

  • Commitment to further learning and openness to developing teaching skills;
  • Ability to integrate the use of information and communication technologies to both engage students in their learning and prepare them for an increasingly technological society;
  • Developing knowledge of classroom practices and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments for all students, including meeting a variety of learning needs;
  • Developing knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and/or NSW Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning;
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage positively with colleagues and students; and
  • Currently completing the final one or two years of tertiary qualifications to become a teacher.
