An opportunity has arisen for the position of Finance Manager at Bungay High And Castle EAST Schools.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for the right person to work as a Finance Manager to support our schools. We are looking for someone experienced in education or charity finance with the ability to manage your own workload to effectively deliver high quality financial management services. We are a multi academy trust with finance roles in our schools so as well as managing finance within your own designated school, you will also work with colleagues across the Trust in a supported network.

Your Role

You will be responsible for providing your schools with financial management and supporting Headteachers, senior budget holders and the Central Trust finance team with:

·        monthly budget monitoring and forecasts

·        checking and preparing staff salaries for approval within set deadlines

·        preparation of annual and medium-term budget plans

·        budget holder support

·        authorising expenditure

·        reporting to governors

·        monitoring of grant related expenditure

·        checking and reconciling staffing expenditure

·        month end and year-end processes

You will have:

·        substantial experience of managing school/charity finances

·        good understanding of accounting processes

·        analysis and forecasting skills

·        ability to work as part of a team and manage staff

·        desire to provide excellent customer care and advice

This is a role that is based primarily in Bungay, Suffolk, across two sites in very close proximity, but may require the post holder to visit the central office and other schools within the Trust. We will also consider a degree of flexible working arrangements with the right candidate.

Bungay High School is a co-educational secondary school with academy status in Bungay, Suffolk. It caters for children aged 11-18.

The school, originally Bungay Grammar School, became Bungay High School in 1974. A range of academic and vocational and academic qualifications are offered in its sixth form.
